【Cross Strait Four Regions Young Lawyers Forum

The Law Society’s annual Cross Strait Four Regions Young Lawyers Forum was successfully held on 19 to 20 September, attracting around 150 lawyers and other honourable guests from Mainland China, Taiwan, Macau and Hong Kong. We are deeply grateful for the support of lawyer associations from different regions at this meaningful annual event.

The ninth edition of the Forum featured a plenary session under the theme “Retrospect and Prospect - A New Legal Generation in Greater China” to reflect on and look into the future of the development of legal industry in Greater China. We were honoured to have Mr. Tommy Yuen, Director for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs (Special Duties), to share his invaluable insights with us at the new thematic presentation on the Greater Bay Area. Various legal topics at the breakout sessions included “Wealth Management and Trust”, “Intellectual Property in Innovative Technology”, as well as “International Dispute Resolution in the New Era”. We hope that young lawyers could learn from the experts and seize the opportunities to network with their counterparts from different regions.

I would take this opportunity to thank Mr. C.M. Chan, Chairman of the Greater China Legal Affairs Committee, Mr Brian Ho and Mr Gary Yin, Co-Chairmen of the Organising Committee of the Forum, as well as all Organising Committee members. Without their contribution and endeavour, this event would not have marked another year of success.
