【Opening Ceremony of the Legal Year 2020】

 

At the invitation of the Law Society of Singapore, President attended Singapore’s Opening of Legal Year on 5 and 6 January and co-facilitated a session titled “Zero tolerance for bullying and harassment” at the Presidents’ Roundtable discussion. The Law Society places high importance on the values of inclusivity and equality and President was delighted to have the opportunity to share with the head delegates our effort in promoting and maintaining diversity and inclusivity in the legal profession. On 9 and 10 January, President also participated in the Opening of Legal Year in Malaysia on behalf of the Law Society.

 

The Ceremonial Opening of Legal Year in Hong Kong will take place on 13 January 2020. It is an important annual occasion for the legal community in Hong Kong at which the Chief Justice will address the audience, along with the Secretary for Justice, myself as President of the Law Society and the Chairman of the Bar Association who have also been invited to speak at the Ceremony. President hope you will be able to attend the Ceremony and the cocktail reception hosted by the Judiciary after the Ceremony to catch up with fellow practitioners in Hong Kong and to meet with eminent guests from overseas.
